Assistantships

Assistantships are often related to your studies or area of specialization. They are a form of financial aid in which you are paid for work performed.

Fellowships

Fellowships are a form of financial aid that's comparable to a college scholarship. It is a grant for which no work is required. It can cover part or all of your tuition, and usually includes a stipend to cover living expenses. Fellowships are neither need-based or merit-based, and generally do not require service to the department.

Scholarships

Scholarships are grants or payments awarded on the basis of academic or other achievements.
